Through a Child’s Eyes: Lessons in Love, Kindness, and Authenticity

My daughter loves her baby dolls. Today at a playground someone else's baby doll was lying on the ground next to the pram. She rushed to it and I was about to tell her that it's not her doll. But what she did was the kindest act. She picked it up and gently put it in the pram and then happily ran off.

Children don't think, analyse and then hesitate. They have open hearts and it’s our responsibility as parents to nurture the love and kindness in their hearts rather than to teach them to count the objects.

She just met a little girl on the playground, but after 10 min of play she ran to her and hugged her in excitement.

How often we adults put on the masks and hide our feelings worried to look strange or different. Children are our best teachers, who help us to realize, that maybe my way is not the only way and my believes are just believes restricting me to express and share love.

We must always remember that our agenda is not always their agenda. Not to break their spirit, but uplift it is our biggest responsibility, to provide the environment where they grow as authentic as they came to this world to be, free from conditions of what they must be.

And the best approach is always love and accepting the fact that I don't know everything and that my child is here to show me, where I need to change and adopt new ways of thoughts, believes and behaviour to become a better person myself.

A child will cry and cry so that I develop patience, calmness and unconditional love.

A child will demand my attention, so that I learn to be selfless.

A child will play loudly and laugh a lot, so that I also learn to drop my seriousness and develop joy.

Even with our children we must be brave to step in a role of a student. There is no better teacher than our child who will teach us to love and be authentic
